Let's get it started!

  Photography By Anna Hu Photography

I'm actually starting to feel like a bride, if that makes any sense. D and I have been engaged since January but all of a sudden it hit me that we are getting married! Maybe it has to do with the 12 month check list that I'm starting to tackle or rather is tackling me. I feel excited and am overcome with happiness. I can not wait to marry D and start our life together. Now, first things first: set date, ceremony/reception site, photographer. Seems easy enough...we'll see!

I love these vintage brooch bouquets by Fantasy Floral Design, however, it might be a little dangerous to toss one of them!

Dreams really do come true!!

I came home last night to probably the most romantic gift anyone has ever given to me. A drum set! I have wished and dreamed for this day for a very long time. Flowers, candy and jewelry are lovely and all but this takes the cake! D with his banjo and me with my drums. Maybe now we'll start a band!!!

Side note: I am very into exclamation points today!!!!

Flutter

Just like a star across my sky,
Just like an angel off the page,
You have appeared to my life,
Feel like I'll never be the same,
Just like a song in my heart,
Just like oil on my hands,
Honour to love you

Still I wonder why it is,
I don't argue like this,
With anyone but you,
We do it all the time,
Blowing out my mind,

You've got this look I can't describe,
You make me feel like I'm alive,
When everything else is au fait,
Without a doubt you're on my side,
Heaven has been away too long,
Can't find the words to write this song,
Oh...
Your love,

Going to the Chapel...well sort of, a beach will do too!

I can still recall the first time I met my mister to be. My friend and roommate at the time set me up with her boyfriend's younger brother. Guaranteed to have many things in common, mainly beer, I thought why not? I spent the afternoon primping and worrying about whether or not it was a good idea. I had never been on a blind date before let alone gone on a date with a Southerner. It was bound to be an adventure, regardless. Just when I thought my nerves couldn't be more wrecked, in blasts D wearing a too tight turner t-shirt, ripped camo shorts, a case of beer and an explosive personality. I thought, now what have I gotten myself into?? Alas, I had an even better time than I could have ever imagined. We didn't do any of that normal first date stuff like go out to dinner or see a movie. Instead, we went to the good ole Ship and Anchor had a few beers and talked. We kept talking and soon we were back at my place, still talking. We were inseparable from then on out or as D's friends refer to as "caking it."

After only dating a few short weeks, D took me to his home town's summer festival and I fell in love with that southern charm. If you've ever had the pleasure of spending some time in the South or know someone from here, you understand the feeling. It was then that I knew I wanted D in my life forever and I proceeded to tell him so. It seems he has finally come around to the idea and we're getting hitched next summer! We're very much in love and can not wait to share this special commitment with all of our family and friends. We've created this blog to help in sharing the little moments leading up to the big day and give a glimpse into the planning of our wedding. Get ready! It's going to be an experience to remember!
